Concert gratuit de Les Yeux Noirs au parvis de la Mairie du 3ème à Paris ce soir 29 Juin 2011 à 20h.
Depuis 1992, et avec plus d’un millier de concerts autour du monde, Les Yeux Noirs continuent leur périple tzigano-rock et yiddish-pop !
Un voyage épique dans un monde hors frontières, flamboyant, grisant une aventure au pays des Roms et des poètes !
Le groupe Les Yeux Noirs a été créé par Eric et Olivier Slabiak. Avec un premier prix du Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles en poche, les deux frères courent les différents cabarets et restaurants où se jouent les musiques d’Europe de l’Est. Ils y apprennent leur métier et le vaste répertoire tzigane et yiddish dont ils se sont pris de passion, passion communiquée par leurs oncles, eux-mêmes musiciens. Léo le violoniste a longtemps joué avec Joseph Reinhardt et Charlie, à la contrebasse, a accompagné Django.samedi 5 février 2011

"We had been playing cat and mouse for months. We attended the same shows in
Paris, talked a little, mentioning maybe we could do something together... to
then see them leave, become huge, and even more intriguing, elusive. It took
eight months for this Take Away Show to happen, for them to be free just one
afternoon despite their super busy Hollywoodian schedule.
And then, what ? Be one hundred percent cliché, but how ? Exaggerate the
origins of a band that became famous abroad ? Or maybe go and film them where
they earned the success they now have ? And then we thought about this funny
video the band posted on July 14th on their blog, where they play "1901" with
an awful iChat wallpaper as a background. Eh, why don't we do it again, but for
real this time ?"
